Merrilee Knoll and Jerri McMahon (Hearing Instrument Specialist) from Hearing Concepts used the UbiDuo to share information simultaneously and in real time. Merrilee is the president and co-editor for her Twin Cities Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America. She brings the UbiDuo to her meetings and shows everyone how it works. How do you feel after using the UbiDuo with different people? "Everyone I have used it with likes the machine very much. Many people would like to have one. Everyone knows that hearing aids are expensive, assistive listening devices are expensive and the UbiDuo is expensive. But, it's one of those things you really need to make life more comfortable for yourself and others. If I had the money I would make them available to every person." What are your thoughts and emotions as you are able to hold your own conversations on the UbiDuo? "The UbiDuo or UB for short as I call it, is especially great for conversing with people who I have not been able to talk very well with before. I feel it is a great instrument and plan to take it with me a lot." What other comments would you want to share with the public about the UbiDuo? "My husband and I especially like conversing on the UB while watching TV. Most people can just talk and watch and listen to TV, but I have to take my infrared off and put my hearing aids back on just for a simple comment about the show. We no longer have to do that, we can converse and watch at the same time." |
